Please join us at the Main Library on September 2nd from 6 to 8:30 pm for a special after-hours reception recognizing Baton Rouge Gallery’s achievements over the last half century. This year, Baton Rouge Gallery – center for contemporary art (“BRG”) is proudly celebrating 50 years of art exhibitions and cultural programming in service of the residents and visitors of Louisiana’s capital region. The East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s Special Collections Department proudly joins with the Baton Rouge Gallery to celebrate this anniversary. On display through the month of September will be the exhibit “50/50”, which was shown at the Gallery in July. This exhibit will feature more artists and enhanced content offering a diverse and multimedia representation of local art over the past 50 years with paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, stained glass, ceramics, fiber art and more.
