Louisiana Municipal Association is hosting a special program at Eden Park Library about advocating in your neighborhood. Advocacy 101 Participants will learn the ins and outs of the local legislative process and different ways their advocacy efforts can help shape public policy. They will also learn practical methods for contacting local legislative and government leaders through phone, email, letter and in-person meetings.

This programs aims to decrease people's uneasiness about contacting people in authority about their opinions. It also aims to provide people with the knowledge and information necessary for them to successfully contact public figures about issues that are important to them.
