Event Details

While Spanish Louisiana was far removed from Bunker Hill, Valley Forge, and Yorktown, the area played an important, though little known part in the American Revolution. Louisiana was significant to the war effort by logistically undermining the British war effort. Its Spanish Governor, General Bernardo de Galvez waged impressive campaigns to attack British territories along the Gulf Coast.
