Let’s Talk about…Mind & Body Wellness to Prevent Opioid Misuse
12-1pm Thursday, April 29
For health/wellness professionals and the general public

Join us for an engaging discussion on incorporating mind and body self-care interventions to optimize health and wellness and minimize misuse of opioid medications.  Attendees will get an overview of the basics of pain neuroscience (why we hurt), as well as some easy-to-implement techniques to improve the pain experience and reduce the effects of physical and emotional stress.  Local physical therapist and wellness expert, Dr. Claire M. Kantrow, will provide non-opioid and non-medical options for effectively reducing and/or managing persistent pain and chronic stress related illness.  Attendees will leave with a better understanding of their pain experience and a set of tools for pain and stress management that can be put into practice the moment you "walk" out the virtual door!

Register for this FREE virtual event on this webpage or call 225-231-3750 for assistance.

A display table will be set up in the lobby of the library on 2-5pm Sunday, April 18, that will include free educational materials, referral resources, Deterra medication disposal bags, Narcan kits (opioid overdose reversal medication), and promotional items.
