The opioid epidemic is impacting many individuals and families in our community. Join us for a
Spring “Let’s Talk” series designed to answer your questions about: 
  • Prescription Pain Medication
  • Preventing Opioid Misuse and Overdose Deaths 
  • Treatment and Support Resources Available for Individuals with Opioid Use Disorders
  • Ways to Enhance Mind & Body Wellness to Prevent Opioid Misuse

For teens, parents/guardians welcome to accompany them

You are in for a treat at this session where local high school students will present the facts about opioids and discuss ways to avoid misusing medications.  Positive and healthy methods to cope with life challenges will be shared.  Use your creativity to make “The Truth About Opioids” posters for display. Be sure to attend in-person to be eligible for a drawing of gift cards. Speakers: Students from Belaire, Glen Oaks and Northeast high schools and ICARE specialists, Jennifer Degruise, Aubrey Jones, and Dana Sam.

A display table will be set up in the lobby of the library on 2-5pm Sunday, April 18, that will include free educational materials, referral resources, Deterra medication disposal bags, Narcan kits (opioid overdose reversal medication), and promotional items.
