Are you ready for the astronomical event of the decade? On August 21, 2017, we will be treated to the first total eclipse of the sun visible in the continental United States in almost 40 years. In the past, when the average person started to realize that an eclipse was coming (often through the media), there were only one or two days to prepare for it. This, however, will be the first such eclipse of the Internet age and information on the eclipse will be widely available.
Join us in watching the 2017 Solar Eclipse at Delmont Gardens Library on Monday, August 21, 11:30 A.M.- 3:00 P.M. Watch NASA livestreaming of the path of totality. We will have an adult story, activities, food, and fun as we wait for the Solar Eclipse. We will also have an Information fair to learn more about the solar eclipse today and throughout ancient history. Registration is required. For more information and to register, call Delmont Gardens Library Reference Department at 225-354-7050.
For safety, solar viewing glasses will be available, in limited supply!
