Event Details

We'll read together Daniel Hale Williams, Surgeon Who Opened Hearts and Minds, by Mike Venetia. It's a biography of the pioneering African American doctor who in 1893 became one of the first to successfully perform open heart surgery. Afterwards, you'll learn a little about your own heart by taking your pulse, first while resting and then after light exercise. For ages 7-11. Please register. Registration begins January 6.
