Garden Discoveries: Trees in Independence Park

The Baton Rouge Botanic Garden Foundation will host a FREE Garden Discoveries Series virtually via an online Zoom meeting platform at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2020 led by Dr. Zhu H. Ning, Professor and Department Chair, Urban Forestry Natural Resources Department, Southern University.

Community members are invited to discover how trees help in preventing floods, remove air pollution, store carbon, and produce oxygen. Dr. Ning will give virtual tour of the trees in the Independence Park adjacent to the Main Library at Goodwood. She will demonstrate how trees in the park and around the city contribute to the health of our Baton Rouge community. She will also share relevant books about trees found in the library.
