An understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity are the foundational building blocks to ensuring a better America for us all! The America, My Oyster Association (AMOA) is proud to launch an online certification program in conjunction with the East Baton Rouge Parish Library. “Building a Better America Today with AMOA!” is designed for high school students, college students, and recent graduates who want to learn more about the fundamentals of diversity, cultural competency, and empathy. This interactive program will introduce participants to a diverse array of curated online courses through Lynda.com and Gale Presents: Udemy Courses which participants can complete at their own pace between May 1 and June 6. Seating is limited for the in-person orientation session at 5 p.m. Thursday, May 6 at the Main Library at Goodwood; register on this webpage. An in-person study hall session will also be available from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, June 5. To celebrate the close of the program, AMOA will host a small recognition ceremony on 4pm Saturday, June 19 at the Main Library at Goodwood where participants will be recognized for their efforts and will receive a certificate of completion. Join us as we invest in the future leaders of tomorrow and build a better America, today with AMOA! For more information, please visit www.theamoa.org.
