The Writing for Everyday Life classes coordinated and managed by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge scheduled at the Main Library have been transitioned to a virtual format, rather than taking place in-person.

Writing for Everyday Life is a creative workshop designed to build observational skills, foster ingenuity, and promote self-expression in a socially engaging setting. Over the course of twelve weeks, participants ages 55 and better will create a portfolio of poems, journal entries, essays, and short stories. Activities will include a weekly reading component as well as in-class creative projects related to visual art, photography, and music. 

Designed with accessibility in mind, no experience is needed. 

This Creative Aging program is presented by the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge in partnership with East Baton Rouge Parish Library. This program has been made possible by the generous support of the AARP Community Challenge

Workshops will take place at 4pm at the Main Library at Goodwood virtually on the following dates: 

January 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, & 27
February 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, & 24
March 3, 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, & 29 (Culminating Event).
