Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. believed that each of us has the ability to create the America we deserve to live in, that each person has value and has the power to do the right thing. An understanding of diversity, inclusion, and equity is a foundational building block to ensuring a better America for us all.
The Building A Better America Today with AMOA program introduces EBR community members to a diverse array of curated online courses specializing in Empathy, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity, all available for free through your East Baton Rouge Parish Library (EBRPL). This interactive program, coordinated by the America, My Oyster Association (AMOA) & EBRPL, is designed for middle & high school students, college students, and lifelong learners who want to enrich their understanding of the fundamentals of diversity, cultural competency, and empathy.
Join us for a Jump Start Orientation at the Main Library at Goodwood at 3pm Saturday, January 15, 2022 to learn more about how you can participate this Spring through monthly lunch & learn sessions with local speakers and through taking self-guided courses at your own pace.
Participants of all completion levels will be honored by AMOA & EBRPL at a Recognition Ceremony at 4pm Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Main Library at Goodwood.
