Celebrate Black History Month with an Afternoon of Poetry Featuring Kelly Harris-DeBerry
Author of Freedom Knows My Name

Kelly Harris-DeBerry is the author of the poetry collection Freedom Knows My Name (Xavier Review Press). She has been a feature for the Louisiana Book Festival. Her work has been featured in publications including 400yrs: The story of Black people in poems written from love 1619–2019 (Third World Press), I Am New Orleans (University of New Orleans Press), and Words Beats & Life: The Global Journal of Hip Hop. She has produced literary visuals including Black Love: A Sustaining Force Post-Katrina. She has served as a literary consultant and grant writer for the New Orleans Words & Music Festival and for Poets & Writers for New Orleans. Harris-DeBerry is the recipient of several fellowships and awards and earned degrees from Kent State University and Lesley University.
